Message from the AMSA President
Welcome members and visitors to our site,
Well, half of the sumer is behind us and we have the second half to enjoy. I am glad to see people treating the beach with great responsibility again this year. While you are on the beach, I know that you always remember to bring off more trash than you brought with you. I applaud your steadfast commitment to leave the beach cleaner than when you arrived. If each of us does this, Assateague will be the cleanest beach on the East Coast. This is the target and goal set by AMSA.

Please be responsible and take a few moments to offer assistance to anyone that would like to go out on the beach with their vehicle. Please share your knowledge of over-sand driving techniques so that they may be conscientious users to that area also.
As "Keepers of the Beach" (AMSA), it is our obligation to contact the Rangers of any misuse in that area or we will have a hefty price to pay in the end. Please get involved and help protect the environment and the beautiful Island. Please contact the Rangers by calling (410) 641-1441 and, if possible, have a description of the vehicle and tag number. This will make it easier for the Rangers to take action. AMSA is, has been and will continue to be "Keepers of the Beach".
Have a great fishing season and I hope to see you on the beach!
Bill Justice
2008 AMSA President
